The Communications Department serves to inform the LAC Family, community and world about the events, ministry opportunities and personal stories of transformed lives of Lake Avenue Church. We use a variety of means to help you communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ through events and ministries tailored to best reach each potential audience.

Our desire is to help you make each event a success, communicate each story with impact and communicate the Gospel in relevant ways to our culture. Please contact us if you are unsure how best to promote your ministry or what tools would help maximize your resources in communicating your information. We have a team of print, web, special services to help.

For most advertising, please begin with our Style Guide. It will help you format the event information into the LAC Communications preferred method and will help you consider all of the details (cost, location, etc.) that we will need to know to publicize your event completely.

To submit upcoming event information to the entire communications department at once, send the information in plain text in an e-mail message to: commdept@lakeave.org.

Resources and Processes (Services Offered)

Publicizing your LAC event is primarily accomplished through:

  • Seasons magazine, our quarterly magazine of events and stories of changed lives
  • LakeAveNews, a weekly insert listing events in the Saturday evening and Sunday morning English-language worship services as well as Worship Folder inserts devoted to a single subject.
  • Posters placed around the campus that highlight upcoming events and directional signs placed around campus on the day of the event directing attendees to the event location (Request Form)
  • Flyers you can hand out, as well as brochures describing the offerings of your ministry or programs offered as an accompaniment to your event
  • Helping Hand, our weekly free classified ads (Helping Hand)
  • Screen Ads, which are projected on to the main screen before and after worship services and appear on the kiosks around campus
  • Homepage ads, are 180 x 240 pixel ads displayed on the homepage of our website at http://www.lakeave.org, which serve to bring attention and allow people to visit a webpage with more information about a particular event or ministry
  • We can also assist with Newspaper Ads promoting a large-scale event or Press Releases to get the word out
  • Our websites, which offer general event publicity as well as custom web projects
  • A self-service video editing system is available where you can create promotional videos to be played in worship services, for small or large groups venues and website playback. (Reservation Form). Limited training is available to show you how to access these resources, but experience with Apple-based iMovie or Final Cut Pro software is preferred.
  • A part-time videographer is available for all-church and large ministry needs on a case-by-case basis. Discuss project needs with Zack Johnson, Media Producer at zackj@lakeave.org or at x 4520.
