About Us
During a child’s elementary years, the weekend services include a time of praise and worship, with review from previous weeks and a fun introduction to the day’s lesson, small group time that includes the Bible lesson, activities that apply the lesson to the lives of your children, prayer time and relationship building opportunities.
The spindly arm of the fourth grader packs a powerful punch as it smacks the rubber ball. The ball cuts the sky with a whoosh bouncing once before rolling on the grass. A jump rope thwackity-thwacks as it hits the pavement across the playground. A caterpillar munches a blade of grass, oblivious to the chatter and laughter that fill the air, and unaware of the first graders who have plopped on their stomachs to watch him eat. Recess! Elementary aged children learn as much on the blacktop as in the classroom. Discovery comes through looking, listening, experiencing. Lake Avenue Church’s Elementary Ministry introduces your child to God’s world, his Word, Himself. We shepherd children and families to connect with Jesus Christ: using tangible ways to explore the intangible; the Almighty God stepping into our finite world and into our lives. We sing songs of praise to the Lord. We step outside of ourselves by giving offerings that support our local and global communities. In both large and small groups, we address the rich questions head on: How did I get here? Why am I here? What went wrong in our world? How did God redeem it? What is “redeem”? How old is Jesus? He lives in my heart? Really? At a time when kids know that anything is possible, we connect them with the Infinite God who proves this true.

Drop-off locations for our weekend programs:
Saturdays @ 5 pm
All grades check-in on the 1st floor of the Maple St Building, located in the southeast corner of our campus
Sundays @ 9 & 11 am
All grades check-in at the Information Center, located outside on the plaza or the 1st floor of the Maple St. Building, located in the southeast corner of our campus.

If you are a first time guest, please go to the Information Center window # 9 located outside on the plaza. You will be asked to fill out an information card, so we can place your children in an age appropriate class. You can speed this process up by going to http://mylac.lakeave.org/default.aspx and register your family in advance. When you come on campus, you can go to any of our 6 check in stations around campus, enter the last 4 digits of your phone number and your children will be checked into a class.
