Evangelism among Ethiopians and Eritreans in L.A. County
by Getachew Kiros, LAC Ethiopian Chariot Fellowship Facilitator
The Vision
Recent reports indicate that there are over 150,000 Ethiopians in the two Valleys and L.A. County. LAC Ethiopian Chariot Fellowship's vision is to reach the first generations of Ethiopians and Eritreans in the San Gabriel Valley, San Fernando Valley and L.A. County with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ through:
- G12 Model: A home cell group evangelistic model with seven phases.
- One to one evangelism/ Going to where the Ethiopian "chariots" are...
- Intentional prayer and fasting for evangelism and the cities where the people whom we seek to reach and find for Christ are living.
- Evangelistic conferences and concerts.
- Training new leaders for mission and evangelism.
- Networking and partnering with ministries and all churches who do have a passion and concern for the lost.
- Relational fellowship moments, such as Ethiopian holiday celebrations for which many gather to celebrate.
- Literature, cassettes and video productions, as well as the printed media productions in Ethiopian Languages.
- Radio programms in Amharic-Tigriya (being planned)
- Culture Based Evangelism
- Events-based Evangelism
- A mission outreach to Ethiopia in teaching and training future church leaders
Getachew Kiros and LAC Ethiopian Chariot Fellowship are on the move to reach as many Ethiopians and Eritreans as possible in the San Gabriel Valley, San Fernando Valley and the L.A. county.
