Friends of International Students

Friends of International Students provides opportunities for all internationals to learn about Christ in a welcoming environment, while at the same time nurturing and equipping international Christians.

FIS seeks to meet the physical, social, and spiritual needs of internationals in the context of genuine love and hospitality through weekly fellowship, holiday parties, homestays and friendship partners.

Upcoming Events and Opportunities

  • Conversation Partners Needed
    Friends of International Students - a ministry of LAC since 1987, invites Lake Avenue Church women who are native English speakers to be matched as conversation partners for wives of international scholars. The commitment is twice a month for an hour at a time and place of your choosing for three months. Training/equipping is provided.   • Friday Fellowship
    2nd and 4th Fridays of each month, 7:00-9:30 pm, Pearce Home
    International students, scholars, their families, and American friends are invited to come for indoor and outdoor games, dinner, Bible study (in English), children's craft and Bible story, and dessert.
