About HS

View Video

Over 100 years ago, a high school-aged girl had a vision to make an impact in her city and the world, and the result of her God-sized vision is Lake Avenue Church. We believe that God invites our young people today to the same kind of things. The girl at Wednesday night Bible study this week will be praying with the homeless next week, and will be spending part of her summer serving at our sister church in New Orleans. The boy throwing dodgeballs in the gym last Sunday is urging his friends to join him in fighting human trafficking this Sunday, and is raising funds to go to Cambodia in a few months. And the couple sitting next to you in the pew serve on the volunteer staff team that guides these young people in discovering all God has for them.

Our privilege is to come alongside high schoolers and their families during the journey of adolescence and create encounters with God's love, God's Word, and God's kingdom. Our rhythm of Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings includes worship, service, prayer, dialogue, and lots of fun. If you're a 9th-12 grade student, we would love for you to join our community! If you're a parent, or an adult who just wants to be involved, we'd love for you to join us too!

Finally, thanks for visiting our site. Hopefully, through all of these pages, you'll get a sense that we love high schoolers and believe that God wants to use them in His plan.
