The Human Resources Department of Lake Avenue Church exists to ensure that we properly oversee all aspects of human resources for our organization. These areas consist of Strategic Management, Compensation and Benefits, Human Resource Development, Staffing/Recruiting, Employee and Labor Relations, and Occupational Health, Safety and Security.

Accomplishment of this objective includes a commitment to the ongoing professional development of our human resources team, in order to remain current with the constant changes in state and federal law, as well as industry specific trends. We also collaborate with several organizations and outside sources for compliance on employment details, which may have an impact on our ministry.

In our day-to-day operations, our department provides a variety of services. This includes facilitating and assisting with staffing and personnel needs for each of our ministry areas, maintaining accurate and current benefits commencement and administration processes, preparing, updating and implementing the most current employment policies and procedures, a commitment to conflict resolution, prescreening and interviewing our potential new employees, conducting all exit interviews, and providing our supervisors with pertinent information as they assess the needs in their respective departments.

As with any large organization, our employees require both support and encouragement. Our department adopts an "open door" policy, so that each employee has the ability to meet and discuss anything they desire, in a confidential manner.

We also seek to make sure that each employee is assigned to the appropriate department, according to the unique gifts they possess. Above all, our desire is to provide a harmonious work environment for all who give of their time and talents to the ongoing ministry of Lake Avenue Church.
