About Us
Purpose Statement
Imagine this: A thirteen year old girl, just beginning her road toward adolescence and adulthood, is met by friends and family for a celebration. Neighbors, youth group leaders, aunts and uncles, and adults in her church have all come together for a celebration – her celebration. Each one stands and gives words of encouragement, words of hope, words of affirmation for this young girl. These are adults building up a kid who is on the journey toward adulthood, on the journey toward maturity in Christ. It is her thirteenth birthday and she knows she is loved.
Life in junior high is no picnic. Because of that reality, the Junior High Ministry at Lake strives to be a safe place where students can feel loved and accepted by the God who made them. It is a place where they can trust this God with their daily lives, and where they can begin to understand who God truly is. Through relationships with adults, small group interaction, worship, games, and Biblical teaching, we are trying to awaken in students the desire to know and be known by Jesus, as well as the desire to live the way that Jesus lived.
Our Guiding Values
- Authentic Relationships with all the generations of God's unexpected family.
- Reconciliation with God, our community, our city, and our world at large.
- Ownership by offering opportunities for students and adults to engage in mission together.
- Service as a witness to the reality of God's kingdom.
- Discipleship by developing intimate relationship with Jesus Christ through the Scriptures, prayer, worship, and shared experiences.

Prayer Needs
How can you pray for Junior High
-
That God would bring more Small Group Leaders to the ministry.
-
That students would continue to get to know Christ.
- That students would understand the need to be "lights" on their campuses and at home.
- That our students would know what it means to really follow Christ.
- That leaders would be examples of a life led by Christ.
Staff
We believe strongly in the importance of students getting connected with adult leaders in mentor-like relationships. Our ministry is not just led by a few paid staff but a team of dedicated volunteers committed to helping jr. high students experience God. As such, we are in ongoing need of additional men and women who seek to utilize their time and gifts to serve the local church and hopefully make life-changing impacts on students' lives. We invite you to consider joining us. The primary prerequisite is a desire to love on students and a willingness to get your hands a bit dirty in their lives.
