Lake Avenue's benevolence ministry exists to assist church members and others in the community during times of emergency or financial crisis. The generosity of giving in this area allows Lake to respond quickly and graciously to the unexpected needs that arise in our community. Partnered with deep spiritual care, the benevolence ministry assists financially but also encourages each participant in their faith and invites them into the glory of God.
The Benevolence ministry is able to fund Lake Avenue's Homelessness Prevention Program which keeps church members and the immediate community in their homes through emergency rental assistance. The success of this program has not only encouraged other church ministries but also inspired city-funded programs.
The only regular source of funding for the benevolence ministry is through the special offering taken on the first of each month during worship service. We are so grateful that this area continues to be a recipient of the incredible faithfulness of the Lake Avenue congregation.
The Neighborhood Center located on the 1st Floor of Family Life Center (between the Worship Center and Hutchins Hall) will be open only on Sundays from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM starting February and is closed on weekdays.
