Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a one-week, half-day summer camp where kids learn more about the Bible and the unconditional love of Jesus. Through music, skits, games, stories and activities, kids will experience God in a whole new way. VBS is for kids age 2 (must be 2 years old by February 1, 2023) through kids entering 5th grade.

Now seeking caring adults and teens to join the VBS team! VBS is an all-church effort. There is something for everyone.

VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION IS OPEN!

VBS 2023 Volunteer registration is open for incoming 6th graders - Adults! Please register early to ensure you can join us. 

Plan to attend one of our VBS Volunteer Training Meetings. These meetings are mandatory for all volunteers:

  • Sunday, June 4, 11 am, MS 200
  • Thursday, June 8, 7 pm - 8:30 pm via Zoom
  • Saturday, June 24, 9 am - 10:30 am in person, FL Rose Room

Stellar VBS takes place from June 26 to 30, 2023 at Lake Avenue Church.

Join us for our VBS workdays to have a *blast* decorating our campus and prepping supplies to welcome our campers!  Come for any or all, no RSVP needed, kids welcome!

  • June 23, 1-4 pm Maple Street 100
  • June 24, 10:30 am Maple Street 100 (after the volunteer training)

VBS 2023 Prayer Guide

Thank you for praying for VBS 2023. While VBS is a ministry for our kids, it is truly time for all generations to come together in unity, to celebrate God’s lavish love for us. Will you pray that children, students and adults will experience God’s love in a new way.

~ Day 1 ~

When life feels dark, shine Jesus’ light!

“Jesus...said, ‘I am the light of the world.’ ” (John 8:12)

  • Pray that our kids will see that their creator knows them and loves them.
  • Pray that our kids would hear and receive that God is the light of the world.

~ Day 2 ~

When people don’t get along, shine Jesus’ light!

“Live in harmony with each other.” (Romans 12:16)

  • Pray that our kids will explore how they can shine Jesus’ love in the middle of discord.
  • Pray that leaders would have clear words to teach and energy to lead.

~ Day 3 ~

When good things happen, shine Jesus’ light!

“Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth!” (Psalm 100:1)

  • Pray that our kids point to Jesus as the giver of everyday blessings.
  • Pray that Lake Avenue would be a source of comfort to others

~ Day 4 ~

When people are sad, shine Jesus’ light!

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God.” (John 14:1)

  • Pray that kids and leaders who are hurting would experience God’s comfort.
  • Pray that leaders would be slow to anger and quick to forgive.

~ Day 5 ~

When people need help, shine Jesus’ light!

“Let your good deeds shine...so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” (Matthew 5:16)

  • Pray that through Jesus, kids can shine a light and be a helper when someone else is in need.
  • Pray that kids and students will hear God’s calling on their life.
