December 6, 2023 Dear Visitor, We are so grateful that you are part of the Lake Avenue Church family. What a diverse family it is! Be it age, ethnicity, or socio-economic status, Lake Avenue Church is truly a church family that represents what Eternity will look like. At the November Congregational Meeting, we adopted a new Mission Statement: “Following Jesus, we participate in God’s reconciling work by making disciples of all peoples and generations.” As we reflect on this past year at Lake Avenue Church, we have seen so many evidences of this mission being fulfilled. Whether it is the record number of volunteers for VBS or the astonishing number of folks participating in the Angel Tree Family to bless children and families of those impacted by incarceration, we have faithfully participated in the work of the Gospel. This year we have seen many people accept Jesus Christ as Savior and many baptized in His name, telling the world that Christ has changed their lives. This year we have sacrificially given to and seen the completion of the Maple Street Children’s Center. We will send 30 young adults to the Urbana Missions Conference to better sense God’s call on their lives. This is a year where we have cared for many in our church family and in our community with basic needs through your generous gifts to our monthly benevolence offering. This has been a year where we have grieved with one another and celebrated with one another as the joys and pains of life are lived out together in community. All of this has made 2015 quite a year for our Lake Avenue Church Family! As we look ahead to 2016, we know we are called to continue to be this kind of family. Please pray about your part of our year-end effort. For some, it will be an extra $20 and for some it will be $200,000. No matter the number, we are praying that each of us will seek the Lord and be faithful to His leading. As of the date of this e-mail, we still need $1,000,000 by December 31 to end our calendar year on target. We have faith that God will continue to provide during this Christmas season. It is truly a joy to serve with you and we are grateful for you! To His Glory,
