It's Friday and that means another update about the things coming up this weekend, next week, important moments of celebration in November, and changes to our service time starting November 28.

Pastor Chuck invites you to participate in this year's Pumpkin Palooza "mini fair" brought to us by Family Ministries. This event isn't just for parents with kids. In fact, we need your help to make this event special and fun for children, families - and for our community. On Saturday, November 6, from 10 am to 2 pm, LAC Women Connect presents a half-day fall retreat titled "Surrounded by the God Who Loves You.” Our theme is taken right out of Ephesians 3:17-18. All women 18 and older are invited to spend a half-day, by gathering together, to listen to God's Word and see how the scriptures can be lived out practically in our lives so that it may flow out into others lives as well. We also ask that you save the date on Sunday, November 14, as we honor and celebrate Pastor Jeff Mattesich and family. Plans are still being formed but we wanted to get this date out to you as soon as we could for you to set aside time to say thank you for 21+ years of ministry at Lake. More information will come in all our communications.

We have 3 upcoming events coming in in the next 7 days that we wanted to give you one last chance to participate in: our Membership Seminar, tomorrow, October 16 at 9 am, The Kitchen Table, this Wednesday at 7 pm, and The Grandparenting Legacy Summit this Thursday and Friday. Throughout September, the Ministry Council held several communal listening sessions to hear what God is saying to us around our core discipleship essential of worshiping in unity. Watch the video below from our Communal Discernment gathering on October 10 to hear themes shared across all sessions and from leaders about what has been discerned. Based on what we have heard, we will be officially changing our Sunday morning schedule starting Sunday, November 28, 2021 to 9:30 am:

Worship Together at 9:30 am – We will have one worship service, in-person and online, that will allow the LAC family to worship together in unity as much as possible.
Connect in Community at 11 am – This time will be reserved for Adult Sunday School Classes and other opportunities for community building and discipleship. We want to prioritize fellowship and learning after the worship service in a relaxed environment with no official end time.
Serve Others at 8 am – The time before the worship service will be set aside for serving opportunities and worship preparation. We have heard that it has been particularly difficult for people to engage with serving on Sundays when classes meet at the same time.

THE GATHERING
Make An Impact. Become a Disciple-Making Disciple

Saturday, Oct. 30, 8 am - 1 pm • Family Life Center & Zoom

Come gather together with group leaders and volunteers from ministries throughout LAC for a morning and meal of encouragement and equipping. This free event is open to all who volunteer, serve or lead at LAC in any capacity - or to those who would like to get started. This is both an on-campus and virtual event via Zoom. A light morning snack and lunch will be provided for those attending in person. Childcare will be available through 5th grade. Donations are welcome. Please register today to make an impact and continue becoming a Disciple-Making Disciple.

Women Connect Half-Day Retreat

Let's spend part of the day together letting our roots sink deep into the truth about God's love and what that practically looks like in our everyday lives. Let's recognize who God really is, how He is active in our lives, where we might need Him to intervene now, and how His love can spill over from our lives to others. Invite your friends and family members and join the Women at Lake. Doors open at 9:30 am. Open table seating.
