friday pastor’s update
February 18, 2022

Dear ,

We hope that you received the all-church Special Update from Dan Crichton, our Church Chair, and Ella Lau, SPSC Chair. Yesterday's communication contains a lot of information about our church polity and updates about the Senior Pastor Search process. You can view the newsletter - here.

In this Friday update, Pastor Scott shares what it means to be involved in Outreach Ministry at Lake. Our Global Missions Connections conversations with our International Staff resumes on March 1. Our Community Meal is opening back up on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sundays at 5 pm with opportunities to serve the least in our community. We also have our Prison Ministry that regularly visits a local prison under the leadership of Ray Thompson. The biggest opportunity through our Community Outreach effort is our upcoming Blair Serve Day. Originally scheduled back in January, we are now ready and able to come alongside the Blair High School staff and families as we help clean, prep, paint, and assemble light construction on Saturday, March 19, from 8:30 am to 1 pm. Lunch will be served, and in addition to the good works, we hope friendships will form as we continue our ongoing faith partnership for more than 20 years.

Finally, we have a special request from our Student Ministries staff, Perry Hawkins and Leah Bolton, as they request for prayer as our Middle and High School students head to Winter Camp today! Listen to their hearts and keep these prayer prompts close by over the weekend.

Prayers leading up to Camp
   • for students and their time away from home
   • for leaders and our speakers as they are prayerfully preparing for a nonstop weekend

Prayers throughout Camp
   • for safe travels to Pine Summit on Friday and back home on Monday
   • for speakers, leaders, and campers openness and vulnerability to what God is saying and doing in them throughout the weekend
   • for fellowship and community building through lasting relationships built as a church family

Prayers follow Camp
   • that students do not just experience the usual ‘camp high’ that wears off in a few weeks, but rather carries that excitement and new knowledge and growth into their everyday lives
   • that communication and conversation about camp is brought down the mountain and into the homes and lives of each student so God’s goodness is spread into the community of each child attending camp
