Dear ,

Today's update comes to you from Jeremy Rose, Co-Director of Worship & the Arts, as he shares several exciting worship opportunities starting this evening with our special Friday Goldline concert at 7:30 pm exclusively on YouTube.

This Sunday, we close our Temptation Series with worship, prayer, fellowship, and a special message by Pastor Annie Neufeld titled "Ball of Confusion" out of Matthew 4:8-11.

This Wednesday, we offer a unique Ash Wednesday Service at 7:30 pm that will begin our 40-day Lenten Journey. Join the LAC family as we mark the start of Lent with a time of reflection, confession, and worship in-person and on YouTube and Facebook. This intimate, reflective service will be led by our worship team, instrumentalists, and pastoral message that will guide us through an hour of music, confession, and personal sacrifice as we mark this moment. Childcare will be provided for ages birth - 5 years on the first floor of Family Life Center.

In addition, we have developed a comprehensive Lenten Devotional that will accompany our teaching series which you can use in your private daily devotion or small group. These are available in the Worship Center Lobby for a suggested $2 donation - and online for free at www.lakeave.org/lent. Pick one up or bookmark the url and join us in our 2022 Lenten Journey towards Easter.

In addition, you will notice a big change in the Worship Center. After many months of delay due to COVID and transportation, we are in the final process of installing a brand new stage that will provide additional space, better safety features, and more aesthetically beautiful. It’s not quite finished yet but completely functional and usable. Thanks for some very generous designated giving, the cost of this stage has not come from our General Fund giving. Thank you to the generous donors who made this possible – and to you the LAC Family for your faithful giving.

Lastly, our Winter Congregational Meeting will be held next Sunday, March 6, at 11 am in-person in the Worship Center and live-streamed on YouTube and at www.lakeave.org/leadership. We will vote in new members, hear updates from church leadership, and vote on a temporary Bylaw provision related to our Nominating Committee process. Active members of the Congregation will vote on the following resolution:

“It is moved to temporarily amend The Bylaws to provide that, for 2022 only, the election of members to the Nominating Committee shall occur at a Special Congregational Meeting called during the months of March through July 2022. This amendment will expire on August 1, 2022.”

For questions, contact Tiffany Reynoso at or 626.817.4802.

His Words Lent Teaching Series

“HIS WORDS” LENTEN TEACHING & DEVOTIONAL SERIES

March 2 - April 17

Join us this Lenten season as we submit ourselves to the words of Jesus in the book of Matthew. In our sermon series, “His Words: Practicing the Transforming Words of Jesus,” we will talk about what it means to follow Jesus, living a life of humility and self-sacrifice. Jesus calls us in the book of Matthew to repent, to follow Him, to forgive our neighbors. He proclaims that the blind receive sight and the dead are raised, and says that if we want to be great we must become servants. Jesus, the Word of God, spoke words of comfort, words of instruction, words of love. And He still speaks today through the power of the Holy Spirit. Come join us this Lent as we put into practice the transforming words of Jesus from the book of Matthew.
