Mighty Oaks 55+ Newsletter Main Graphic

December 7, 2022

Dear ,

I hope and pray that this newsletter finds you well and rejoicing in the Lord! It has been encouraging to hear the news reports recently that things are improving regarding the cases of Coronavirus reported and that we can look forward to more freedom to live our lives and enjoy being with friends and family again. Praise the Lord!

Lilli and I were so encouraged this morning in our devotional time with two passages of Scripture: 1 Peter 5:6-7: Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in “due time” (air quotes mine!). Cast ALL your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. And 1 Thess. 5:18: (gulp!) Give thanks in ALL circumstances, for this is GOD’S WILL FOR YOU in Christ Jesus.

The main thing we sensed that God was saying to us through these passages is this: “Give me all your cares, wants and needs DAILY. I love you and I am sovereignly watching out for you and will meet your every need “in due time”. So, live THANKFUL LIVES! DON’T COMPLAIN OR GRUMBLE! TRUST ME!” So, let’s do this thing called “life” and expect God to be right there by our sides, holding our hands and whispering “atta-boys/girls” into our ears! Amen!

Here are a few upcoming events I don’t want you to miss:

Grandparenting Ministry

R.C. Sproul once said…“The key to staying useful as we grow older is to concentrate, not on what we can no longer do, but on what we still can do. You never know when God has saved some of his best gifts and abilities for you until your later years.” We all want to reach the end of our lives having done something truly significant – we all want to finish well and hear Jesus say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant” - Matthew 25:2).
