November 29, 2022

Dear ,

Well, we are officially now in the summer months and are experiencing some nice, warm summer weather.  Some of us are looking forward to taking a “real vacation” again after many months of covid confinement!  As many changes are coming our way rapid-fire, causing a bit of concern, the Lord encouraged me with Psalm 27: 13-14:

“I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living (now!).  Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord.”

I was reminded AGAIN that I can count on “the goodness of the Lord” NOW and really EVERY DAY and can turn over my “concerns” to Him and trade them in for His guidance, His peace and His joy!  All I need to do is “WAIT FOR THE LORD”, who will give me courage and strength going into every new day!  I love that promise, don’t you?

Here are a few upcoming events I don’t want you to miss:

Mighty Oaks 55+ Luncheon, June 26

The luncheon this year will be both in person and virtual!  We plan to have over 100 guests enjoying lunch in the Rose Room and at the same time, sending the program via zoom to many more who will enjoy the program with a tasty lunch of their own!  The choice is yours!  The keynote speaker will be Pastor Tim Peck, former Pastor at Lake and now the Senior Pastor at Glenkirk Church in Glendora.  His message will be "Seasons of the Soul", just as we go through different seasons and stages in our lives; our soul goes through seasons as well.  It will be fascinating and inspirational!  We will also hear testimonies from Arlene Okamoto and Dotty Clark on how they learned to cope with the issues of Loneliness and Isolation during the pandemic!  Varetta Heidelberg will also be leading us in times of song and worship.  You really won’t want to miss this wonderful event!  Please click here to register as soon as possible.  The seating for the in person luncheon is limited.  See you there!
