A Weary World Rejoices - Advent Series 2020

This year has been unlike anything we could have ever anticipated, with frequent moments of feeling exhausted, discouraged, and sad. The Christmas season often attempts to evoke joyful memories and traditions that can come into contrast to weariness many of us are living in. The story of Advent is one that recognizes the difficult reality of life in this world, in which rejoicing breaks in throughout the birth of Jesus Christ. The story of Jesus doesn’t push aside the weary world but rather enters into the weary world and brings rejoicing. This series will look at the traditional themes of Advent (joy, peace, hope, and love) alongside Scripture and Christmas songs.
