Ephesians: 4:11-12: “So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up...”

Have you ever tried to fix something in your home without having the proper tools? Apart from becoming very frustrated, you could even end up getting seriously hurt! Do you sometimes wonder why we don’t approach Christian living with the same common sense principles that we use every day? In order to be an effective believer, we need to be equipped with the proper tools that make that essential difference.

Here at Lake, we take God’s Word very seriously - and that is why we take equipping you as a believer seriously as well! Attending a Lake U elective is a great way to get equipped for Christian living and ministry. In 2012, Lake U will enable you to experience:

  1. A variety of stimulating and relevant topics;
  2. Teachers who not only have outstanding academic qualifications to teach but who also understand the need for practical instruction in the church today;
  3. A welcoming and friendly environment hosted by Lake’s Adult Class communities;
  4. Opportunities to meet and fellowship with teachers and one another.
Some electives that will be presented in 2012 are:
  • “How to Get Along with the People of God” by Steven Unruh, MFT
  • “Ishmael and Isaac: Biblical Reflections” by Dr. Mark Harlan
  • “Judaism and Christianity: Past, Present and Future” by Jen Rosner, MJTI
There will also be a series of continuing seminars on the topic of Financial Stewardship which Pastor Greg has been preaching on so keep a look out in the Worship Folder for more information on Lake U classes and dates. We hope you will join us. If you are part of the body of Christ, come and get yourself equipped!

Join us for our next Lake U Series: How to Get Along with the People of God.
