Argentina-Bound Choirs to Perform at Lake Avenue Church

Lake Avenue Church's Sanctuary and Handbell Choirs will hold a concert at 8 p.m., Friday, July 22, at the church's Chapel featuring music to be performed on the choirs' One Faith One Hope concert tour to Argentina. The evening's entertainment will include spirituals, gospel songs, and other music of early America, together with classical and Spanish-language pieces. Soloist Darnell Abraham will perform several numbers, and the Handbell Choir will play an Argentine tango.

The concert is free, but an offering will be taken that will be used entirely to assist Argentine ministries, such as a church soup kitchen, a high school, a seminary, and a school for singing children.

The choirs' August 4-18 Argentine journey will take them to Córdoba, Rio Cuarto, Rosario, Buenos Aires, and Iguazú, performing at Protestant and Catholic churches, schools, a seminary, and at civic venues. In some cities they will help celebrate significant anniversaries.

Those who arrive early for Friday's concert can also enjoy many classic cars which will be on display in the parking lot as part of Lake Avenue Church's summer Classic Car Nights from 5-8 p.m.
