Now on it's 5th year, we look forward to providing another transformational camp experience for kids 7-11 years old, specifically for children in the foster care system in the Pasadena area.

Want to help? We are looking for volunteers and supporters to make our 2010 RFKC experience the best possible. For more information & how you can get involved, please contact Staci Rossell, Camp Director, at rfkc@lakeave.org or 626.817.4800, ext. 4020.

"I like the Royal Family Kids Camp because I like swimming, chapel, 30/30 time, and making things, also catching lady bugs."

WHAT IS RFKC?

Jeremy-at-bus Royal Family Kids' Camp through Lake Avenue Church is part of a nationwide network of camps for abused and abandoned children. In 2009, we were one of 169 camps in 35 states and 8 foreign countries. Over 6,700 foster children attended one of these camps last summer. Each camp is designed specifically for foster children ages 7 – 11. For one week each summer we create a fun, inspirational and life-changing outdoor camping experience for these precious children. Learn more about Royal Family Kids' Camps, Inc. at www.rfkc.org.

HOW CAN I BE INVOLVED?

The dates of camp this year are August 15 - 20, 2010

Counselors and Camp Staff
You can be a part of this incredible ministry by volunteering as a counselor or staff member for the week of camp!

You will be amazed at how God can use you to provide a foster child with a week of acceptance, love, and positive memories!

Registration Team
Help out a few hours on the morning the children leave for camp by welcoming campers and helping with check-in.

“Everybody’s Birthday Party” Team
A group of volunteers comes to camp for one evening to help throw a Birthday party for all the campers! A tradition of RFKC, it’s a celebration to honor each camper!

Welcome Home Team
For a few hours on the day of our return, be a part of the team that helps welcome the staff and campers home!

If you are interested in volunteering and being part of our 2010 camp staff, or just want to learn more about RFKC, please contact: Staci Rossell, Camp Director at rfkc@lakeave.org or 626.817.4800, ext. 4020.

MEMORY BAG SPONSORS

Again, many of these children come to camp with very few belongings. We can see how much it means to them when they proudly wear their T-shirt and use their RFKC water bottle during the week! You can sponsor a Memory Bag for $40.

SPONSOR A CAMPER!

Camper Scholarships needed! Each child comes to camp at no cost to them. It costs $300 to send a child to camp for an entire week. This includes 5 days of camp, transportation, crafts and activities, healthy meals and snacks, camp T-shirt, Bible, Birthday Party gifts and so much more. Above all, it provides a foster child with a week of positive memories from loving counselors and staff.

Just before camp you will receive the name of the child you are sponsoring so you can pray specifically for that camper! After camp, you will receive a Thank You note from your camper and their counselor and learn a little about their amazing week together.

If you want to sponsor a camper, please contact: Staci Rossell, Camp Director at rfkc@lakeave.org or 626.817.4800, ext. 4020 or simply donate online by visiting our LAC Store.
