Club45 Ministry Coordinator (Pre-Teen)

We're excited to add a mature, fun, self-motivated person to our Family Ministries Team. We're looking for someone with a heart for 4th & 5th grade students and their families, strong communication and leadership skills, an ability to mentor students, and a deep appreciation for diversity and inter-generational relationships. The job involves substantial program responsibilities alongside meaningful ministry opportunities. We're looking for an individual who can lead well, serve well, and commit  to the mission and values of Lake Avenue Church.

Individuals best suited for this position will possess the following characteristics:

  • Committed to growing in Christlikeness with spiritual gifts of leadership and pastor/shepherd. Model an authentic relationship with God and have demonstrated the ability to maintain a healthy balance between ministry and home life.
  • Ability to equip and empower others to do the work of ministry and a passion for helping lead people into a life of discipleship and growth in Christ.
  • Capacity to lead and develop a team of volunteers to implement effective, innovative, and relevant ministry for the purpose of  increasing span of care.
  • Experience working with and leading people from diverse racial, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, and the ability to function and communicate the Gospel with them.
  • Strong character with good judgment; exceptional interpersonal relational skills; team player
  • Have a heart for ministry and agreement with Lake Avenue Church Statement of Faith

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Under the supervision of the Director of Children’s Ministries, plan, coordinate and lead Sunday morning ministry program.
  • Under the supervision of the Director of Children’s Ministries, develop mid-week evening ministry and special events for Club45 students and families, building programming that is family friendly and sustainable.
  • With the Director of Children’s Ministries, equip and encourage volunteers for Club45 Ministry, providing leadership, care and support  for the volunteer team.
  • Utilize Curriculum to disciple students and empower leaders.
  • Partner with the Middle School Ministry in providing intentional connections to foster relational and transitional ministry to students,  adults, and families.

Education and Experience:

Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical  example of this would be:

  • Undergraduate degree in Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, or a related field
  • Demonstrated youth ministry experience, preferably three or more years
  • Experience in multicultural and inter-generational ministry

This full-time (30 hours per week) position is located within the Family Ministries department of Lake Avenue Church and reports to the Director of Children’s Ministries. This position is classified as non-exempt, includes benefits, and requires evening and weekend hours.

Pastor/Director of Missional Outreach

Profile of the Pastor/Director of Missional Outreach:

Lake Avenue Church seeks a Pastor/Director of Missional Outreach. This role is focused on equipping, training and leading the congregation to engage others in their immediate context with the gospel. This person (male or female) will understand the challenges of cross-cultural witness, the realities of the increasingly post-Christian environment we live in and how to equip and lead others in engaging it. This role will work closely across all departments of the church while partnering actively with the Community and Global Outreach leadership to implement church-wide strategies to advance God’s full redemptive purposes in word and deed for all Peoples.

Individuals best suited for this position will have:

  • A passion to disciple and equip people to bring witness to the gospel of Christ
  • Experience mobilizing a congregation to use their spiritual gifts, professional skills, and life experiences to flesh out the gospel through every aspect of their lives
  • The capacity to continually recruit and develop new leaders
  • An administrative capacity for managing multiple projects effectively
  • An ability to relate to a wide range of adults from varying age groups, socio-economic circumstances, and ethnic backgrounds
  • The ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form
  • Cultural competence to work in a multicultural, multiethnic context
  • A style of leadership that is nimble, adaptive, and creative resulting in a keen ability to understand and keep pace with significant change in the world
  • A team player who is able to work collaboratively within a department with nine other staff members

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaboration with all other Ministry Divisions, create, implement and oversee training, equipping and deployment of the LAC Family
  • Oversight of outreach formation & cultural engagement opportunities
  • Resourcing of small groups to reach others for Christ
  • Building a team that will mentor and develop missional leaders
  • Oversee the ministries of membership and baptism
  • Occasional up front responsibilities during weekend worship services as needed (announcements, offering, etc.)

Education and experience:

Qualified candidates will have any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. One example of this would be (others will definitely be considered):

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required. Masters in Theological studies or equivalent training and experience preferred
  • At least five (5) years’ experience serving with multiple staff within a large ministry

This full-time position is located within Outreach Ministries Division of Lake Avenue Church and reports to the Associate Pastor of Outreach Ministries. This position is classified as exempt, includes evening and weekend hours, and is eligible for benefits. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with the responsibilities of the position and the qualifications of the individual. Candidates must be living in or willing to relocate to the Pasadena area.
