We use the term “Front of House or FOH.” House is a theater term for the audience seating area. The operator responsibility is to mix a comfortable audio level (for the audience) of multiple sources (vocals, bands, etc) for worship & teaching. You will have a Hands-On position as you support the pre-service rehearsal. You will mix as performers get comfortable with the monitor and the echo from the building returning to their ears. Work alongside of Broadcast audio as they simultaneously use the same microphones on their console. Then, inform Broadcast audio of any changes that will affect their mixing.

To become familiar with the equipment and process, you’ll work alongside an operator with both a training day plus week to week training. You will build knowledge on the console and its different screens. You will continue the practice of the console. Working at a comfortable pace, you will find yourself operating more the audio console as you feel.
